Laken's Arrival Dinner

Last weekend some of our friends had an arrival dinner to meet baby Laken. Shannon Staker (an amazing crafter ~ check out her blog linked on my page) held it at her home in Sun City and made the super cute diaper cake. Her blog is Shannon Makes Stuff and she is so creative, posting craft tutorials all of the time. Our other friend Jen Tilton made the adorable baby shaped cupcakes. All of the boys in the photos are Chase's fellow classmates that are also on rotations in Phoenix. Thank you Shannon, Jen, and Eli......good times!

A Night on the Town with AZ Family

Laken joined us for a night on the town last Saturday night. Our AZ family (aka Mike and Jenn) met us for dinner and drinks at an italian restaurant in Scottsdale. This is the first time that Laken met Mike as he was in Florida for his last clinical rotation. We are so thankful to have them here in AZ with us and know we have made lasting friendships with them. Laken slept through the entire outing;)

One Month Stats

*I now weigh 7 pounds 15 ounces and am in the 15th percentile.
*I am 20 1/2 inches long.
*It only took me one month to take over this house.
*My parents pretty much do whatever I ask of them.....I know what I like;)
*I fit newborn diapers and onesies perfectly.
*My new favorite activity is to hang out in my swing.
*I coo when I am happy and my smiles are more frequent.
*I am excited that daddy is home every night now.
*Despite my parents efforts, on occasion I use a pacifier.....it comforts me.
*My hair is filling in the front.
*I still have my days and nights mixed up.
*I turn towards people's voices and listen to conversations.
*I've been practicing holding my head up and am gaining strength.
*I've got nursing down. Got milk?

Grandma and Grandpa Butler are here!

Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Gary just arrived to visit for a week and meet their newest granddaughter! They are so excited and Laken is ready for the company......more pictures to come.
